Georgia Junior Rodeo Association

Welcome!

The Georgia Junior Rodeo Association is a nonprofit association for children through the 8th grade that are 15 years or younger. This association is for learning both rodeo skills and life lessons, and for fun. We offer the following events: breakaway calf roping, tie-down calf roping, team roping, dummy roping, goat tying, chute dogging, barrel racing, pole bending, calf riding, and steer riding.

All rodeos are held at the Lightning P ranch and arena in Resaca, Georgia starting at 10:00AM. There are 10 rodeos during the school year, ending with the finals in June where prizes and trophies are awarded. Membership fees are $40 per child and entry fees are $10 per event for 6 & under and $12 per event for all others. There is also a $8 arena fee per rodeo. Minimum raffle tickets and ad sales are required to participate in the finals. The advertising and ticket sales help pay for prize and trophy expenses.
